On Saturday afternoon I had to make deliveries for work in Boutte, LA. Afterward, I stopped at this great shop on Highway 90 called Maison Decor. They sell a lot of gifts, home decor items, garden art and MEXICAN POTTERY (oodles of it, which is what made me stop in the first place).
Ok, I guess I have a “thing” for mexican pottery, I like the rustic nature of it and it only gets better with age. Except for the pots that had the metal legs that rust, well I still like them but my back patio… not so much. Over time, I have slowly repotted all the container plants on my back patio into these but I just don’t have room for any more.
I did come across this unusual strawberry pot, which is a shape I don’t have/haven’t seen and the “not having room” problem hasn’t stopped me before, so I bought it. I am going to put it in the garden off the dining room and use it for succulents or herbs, I think. By the way, this pot weighs a ton. I’m liking it.
Really pretty blog!!
Thank you Joey, I’ve been tweaking it out
That is a cool strawberry jar!!
Thanks Kathleen, I thought it was an unusual shape… leaning toward planting succulents when it gets a bit warmer.
Great pot!
What a treat to stumble upon your lovely blog while surfing the Net!
I particularly enjoyed your post on the Fall show at the Botanical Garden as I have not been there since before Katrina…great to see how the restoration is progressing so nicely. For years I used to have an apt. in the Quarter so I know what it means to miss Nawlins! I will be back to visit your cool blog often!

Jon, the Botanical Garden looks different but I too was surprised by the restoration… it is looking good and I can’t wait to see it after it has fully established. I will definitely be posting more on the Botanical Garden in the future because I am taking the Master Gardener program there in 2009. I am adding you to my “Cool Garden Links”, thanks for visiting!
Dropped by again to let you know I have added a link to your blog on my sidebar of favorites. You are lucky to be able to take the Master Gardener program there. I’ll bet it will enrich your life as well as your knowledge and be full of interesting students and instructors. I envy you and good luck with it.
